Data centres are responsible for over 1% of global electricity consumption which is increasing year on year. By 2020, carbon emissions from data centres are predicted to exceed those of the airline industry. efficiency of our data centres. This results in constantly improving the effectiveness of our power usage across all our data centres. Sustainable Green Energy is procured for Global Switch’s own usage, and offered as an option to customers, where available. This type of energy is generated from renewable energy sources such as wind-farms.
